Have you ever asked yourself or your friend what Walmart’s online bike return policy is? Well, you are at the perfect place to find the answer to such a question.
While Walmart is a great place to find anything and everything you need, they have a specific return policy for their bicycles.
If you aren’t aware of the method and process for a return, you may end up disappointed and out of the money you paid.
Here, we’ll detail Walmart’s online bike return policy that will include everything that’s covered and more. Even though there are several details, the most important of these is the time in which you have to make the return. You have 90 days for regular bicycles but only 30 days for electric bikes.
One of the good things about making a return online with Walmart is that you can go right to your account.
This means you don’t necessarily need a receipt and you won’t have to wheel it into a brick-and-mortar store. However, this means you will have to use either FedEx or the United States Postal Service.

Initiating the Return Process
To initiate the return process, view your order history. You can do this on your smartphone through their app or at their website.
If you don’t have an account, you can simply visit their returns page to begin the process. But you must have a receipt, your order number, and your email address for this latter instance.
In regards to making a return without an account, you will go to their online return portal. However, it will show their order tracking system.
You can input your order number and you’ll see the bike’s completed shipment information. Then, click on that bike and begin the process as you would if you did have an account.
For those with an account, locate the bike you want to return in your order history. Just to the right of it should be two buttons: Return or Replace.
When you click on either one, you have to provide a reason. Next, select “Return by Mail.” They will take you to a page that will give you a free return shipping label.
Shipping the Bike Back to Wal-Mart
Print out the label and put it on the package that you intend to return the bike. It’s better if you have the original packaging along with any additional accessories that came with the bike. Secure these into the box.
However, if you have a rather large bike, they will help arrange a pick up for you rather than taking it to the courier.
But you want to be careful with this option if you don’t live in a safe area or have trust issues with neighbors. Regardless, it’s a convenient and hassle-free way to make a return.
What to Expect After They Receive the Bike
Once Walmart receives the bike, they’ll send a confirmation email. You can expect a refund in your bank or credit card account within two to three weeks. However, if they issue you a store credit, then you’ll get that once they fully process the return.
That usually takes five to 10 business days.
But, if you’re looking to exchange your bike for a new one, the amount of time you’ll receive the new bike will vary.
This will largely depend on their on-hand stock of the bike in question. In general, you can expect your replacement bike between two weeks and 30 days.
Other Caveats & Details
Of course, you can initiate the return online and bring it into a physical store. You will simply indicate that when you use Wal-Mart’s online return portal.
This might be a better option if you’re looking to get the refund in sooner than two to three weeks.
While Walmart is famous for accepting bikes in just about any condition, please note that they do reserve the right to refuse any return for any reason.
This is true with or without a receipt. So, even if you do everything correctly down to every detail, you may get an email telling you how they’re rejecting the return.
If at any point you have doubts about their accepting the bike return, it’s best to bring it into a store yourself.
That way, if they reject the refund/exchange, you can leave with the bike and still have it in your possession. When you send it in, you relinquish ownership irrespective of their acceptance.
Making an online return at Walmart is very easy to do. You just have to be aware of the details and the process so you can increase your chances of a successful return or refund.
Remember, while they will accept most bikes that have incurred severe damage, they may refuse it for whatever reason they want.
But, if you peruse online forums on the subject of bike returns with Wal-Mart, this doesn’t seem to be a big problem.
