Can you return items purchased from Trek Bike?

Trek Bike accepts returns within 30 days of the original purchase date. 

There are a few different ways to go about the return depending on whether you purchased your item from an authorized Trek retailer or online at

No matter how you purchased your item, you can return it either in-store or through the mail depending on your preference.

In-person returns

If there is an authorized Trek retailer near you, you can return your item right in the store for a refund. You can find a Trek retailer in your area on their website

To return in-store, you need the item you wish to return and your store receipt or a copy of your confirmation email for online orders. 

If you purchased a bike that was assembled in the store, you will need to return the bike to the store that originally built it for you. 

Mail returns

If you can’t get to a Trek retailer or just prefer to mail in your return, you can easily do so as well. 

If you have an account with Trek online, your return shipping is always free. You can print a prepaid shipping label right from your account, package up your item, and drop it off for shipment. 

If you did not set up a Trek account and just checked out as a guest or purchased in a Trek store, you will be responsible for return shipping costs.

Trek asks that you ship your item using UPS, FedEx, or USPS so that you can track the status of your return should anything happen to it in transit.

The warranty for various Bontrager and Trek products includes specific durations for coverage: – Bontrager wheels with carbon rims are covered under a lifetime warranty. – Trek apparel, Bontrager apparel, Bontrager parts and accessories, and Bontrager wheels with alloy rims are covered for a duration of 2 years.

What are the exclusions under the Bontrager Warranty?

The Bontrager Warranty excludes coverage for the following situations:

– Regular wear and tear – Incorrect assembly – Corrosion

– Improper maintenance – Installation of components, parts, or accessories that were not originally intended for or compatible with the bicycle as sold – Damage or failure resulting from accidents, misuse, abuse, or neglect

– Labor costs for replacing or changing parts

– Non-proprietary products not covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty.

What warranty policies cover Trek and Bontrager goods?

Trek and Bontrager goods are backed by comprehensive warranty policies and return programs to provide customers with confidence in their purchases and ensure they can fully enjoy their products.

How long do you have to return items to Trek Bike? 

You must initiate your return with Trek within 30 days of purchase. 

You can return in-store within that 30-day window. If you are returning your item by mail, make sure you initiate the return in your online account within 30 days.

Once it is initiated, ship your item back to Trek as soon as you can to avoid delays with your return and refund processing. 

Can I make split payments for my order on

On, we currently do not support split payments using multiple credit cards for a single transaction. If you have multiple items and wish to use more than one credit card, we recommend placing separate orders for each item.

Alternatively, you can choose to visit a nearby Trek dealer as they may have the capability to process payments using multiple cards.

How are credit card returns processed?

Credit card returns are typically processed promptly upon confirmation of the return. In most cases, customers can expect to see the credit reflecting in their accounts within 4 to 10 business days. However, it is advised to allow for up to 30 days for the credit to appear.

Will Trek Bike refund shipping charges on returns?

Any customer with a Trek account will receive a prepaid shipping label to ship back returned items.

If you do not have an account set up, you will have to pay for shipping out of pocket and it will not be reimbursed by Trek. 

It’s also important to know that if you receive a damaged or incorrect item from Trek, they will reimburse you for any shipping charges you paid on the original order as well.

If this happens to your order, make sure to let them know when you initiate your return to ensure you are fully reimbursed. 

Under what conditions will shipping charges be refunded by Trek?

Shipping charges will be refunded by Trek under the following conditions: 1) If Trek ships the incorrect merchandise 2) If the merchandise was shipped damaged or defective 3) If the merchandise was damaged in shipping.

How long will it take to receive my refund from Trek Bike? 

Most refunds will credit to your account within 10 days of the return being processed by Trek. However, depending on your bank your refund may take up to 30 days to show up.

If after 30 days you have not received your refund, please contact Trek and they will make it right for you. 

Can you return used items to Trek Bike if it doesn’t work?

Trek is great about returns. They offer an “Unconditional Guarantee” return policy within 30 days of your purchase.

What this means for you as the customer is that if you are not satisfied with your order for any reason, you can return it for an exchange or refund. 

This guarantee applies to anything you purchase, even if it has been installed on your bike or used. 

Trek does ask that you clean the item thoroughly before returning it to them for a refund or exchange. Any items received that are not cleaned to Trek’s standards will; be shipped back to you at your expense. 

Under what conditions will shipping charges be refunded by Trek?

The holiday return policy for orders on states that any orders placed on between November 24th and January 1st are eligible to be returned up until January 31st.

Does Trek offer international shipping services?

Currently, our shipping services are available exclusively for addresses within the United States. Please note that we do not provide shipping to freight forwarding addresses at this time.
