Toys R Us Bike Return Policy (What’s Covered + More)

Toys R Us Bike Return Policy

Do you know what Toys R Us bike return policy is? Well, you are at the perfect place to find the answer to such a question.

The once-beloved children’s store Toys R Us is currently staging a comeback by partnering with Macy’s after closing its last two stores in 2021.

Toys R Us has kept an online presence and still has stores in countries outside the U.S., but these changes have made their return policy confusing.

Overall, a bike purchased from Toys R Us online has a 30-day return window. A bike purchased through Macy’s can be returned within 90 days and in other countries, it varies between 30 and 90 days. All bikes must come with proof of purchase and be in unused, saleable condition to receive a full refund.

Returns and Exchanges for Bikes Purchased In-Store

Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to return anything purchased at a Toys R Us store in the United States.

Toys R Us closed its final two stores in January 2021, located in the Garden State Plaza of Paramus, New Jersey, and The Galleria in Houston, Texas.

At the time, customers had a 60-day window to return in-store items purchased before January 3, 2021, but that time has long passed. Anything purchased in a U.S. Toys R Us store location after January 3, 2021 was considered a final sale.

The good news is that Toys R Us has a simple return policy for bikes purchased online or at their Macy’s locations and still operates brick-and-mortar stores in other countries outside the U.S., including Canada.

Exchanges and Returns for Bikes Purchased Online

Although Toys R Us officially closed its doors at U.S. locations, it kept its website up and running. If you purchased a bike on the Toys R Us website, you have 30 days to return it by mail to receive a refund.

Returned bikes must be in a saleable condition, meaning the bike is still in its original packaging and is exactly how you received it with no usage or wear.

If you have your packing slip, and original invoice and the bike is in a saleable condition, you can receive a full refund in the original form of payment, not including shipping or delivery fees.

You can also request merchandise credit instead and receive an E-Gift Card of equal value to the bike, not including extra delivery fees. This E-Gift Card can only be used on ToysRUs.com.

The debit or credit card used to purchase the bike will be credited the refund within 10 business days, but it may take a few more days to show the activity on your account.

The easiest way to begin the Toys R Us online return process is through the customer service portal on their website under ‘Contact Us.’

Simply select ‘Return’ under the ‘Type’ drop-down menu and fill out the required information such as the reason for return and your contact information.

You will need to reprint or email the return label. This can be found in your original email and will direct you to the UPS website.

If you no longer have access to that email, you can request it through Toys R Us customer service on their website.

Returning Bikes Purchased at Macy’s Locations

Toys R Us has recently partnered with Macy’s to bring back its stores inside select Macy’s locations. So far, they have over 40 locations within nine states including California, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, Nevada, and New York.

Stores in another 19 states are slated to open before the busy shopping season this holiday, including Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Texas, and South Carolina, to name a few.

Most of the stores in Macy’s will be around 1,000 to 10,000 square feet, having plenty of room for toys galore. The larger stores are set for bigger cities like Miami, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Honolulu, and Houston, so be on the lookout for a store opening near you.

If you are lucky enough to have already shopped at one of these flagship stores, you may be wondering about their return policy.

If you purchased a Toys R Us bike at a Macy’s store location, you can return it for free within 90 days.

You can ship the bike by mail or return it directly to a Macy’s store. If you decide to ship the returned item and are required to pay a shipping or delivery fee, it will be non-refundable.

Returned bikes must be in original, saleable condition including original tags, packaging, and no apparent usage or wear.

Returning Bikes at Toys R Us Locations Outside of the U.S.

At its peak, Toys R Us had over 600 stores in 40 countries starting internationally in Poland, but since then it has closed most international store locations.

Toys R Us still offers an online presence in some countries and the return policy will differ by country and be found on that country’s Toys R Us website.

If you purchased a bike from Toys R Us Canada either in-store or online, you have 30 days to return it with a full refund; however, you must have the original receipt.

If you are an RClub (loyalty club) Member, you have 90 days to return the bike with a membership card and original receipt. Returned bikes must be in unused, resalable condition in their original packaging.

If you purchased your bike online through Toys R Us Canada, you can return it to a local store, directly to the warehouse, or by mail or courier via Canada Post.

You must have the product in its original packaging, the packing slip, and a confirmation email.

Refunds are credited back to your original form of payment or in the form of Merchandise Credit within seven to ten business days.

In Summary

Although the glory days of Toys R Us stores have taken a backseat, there are still plenty of ways to purchase goods from this children’s retailer.

Their simple return policy makes it easy to purchase a bike through their website, Macy’s, or Toys R Us locations in other countries, and you can easily get a refund if you so choose within 30 to 90 days.

Toys R Us is currently expanding into even more Macy’s retail locations for the holiday season with plans to help children everywhere access their favorite toys.
